Jason: “I’m very happy to have made my debut, and can’t wait for the next game”
Jason was under the spotlight this weekend on two occasions, as he made his unofficial Valencia CF debut against Monaco and was put through the squad’s traditional initiation ritual on the karaoke microphone. The new signing talked about both experiences to VCF Media.
Debuting for Valencia CF
“I was very eager to debut in a game. It’s just a shame about the result, as when you don’t win you are left with a strange feeling, but I’m very happy to have made my debut and eager to play in the next game and help the team.”
A special day
“It’s special when you debut for any team, but this is Valencia CF -a big club. The feeling was different. I’m very excited to be putting on the VCF shirt.”
The initiation
“It was tough, but the players and coaching staff have welcomed me very well from day one. I’m very happy and comfortable, and everybody is making things easy for me. I’m really happy. However, after thanking them, I had to sing a song… and none of us are exactly singers! It was good; I sang ‘Bailar pegados’ by Sergio Dalma. I went romantic, as Garay said (laughs).
Advice from Marcelino
“I’ve spoken with him on several days. He’s very approachable, and has concerned himself with how I’m doing and how I feel. I’m grateful to him for that.”
